120th Jubilee

In 2012 WIBO is celebrating their 120th Jubilee. WIBO started in Hamburg as a clay pottery producer. In 1892 Germany was experiencing turbulent times. Chancellor Bismarck had resigned two years before and Wilhelm the 2nd was the German Kaiser and King of the monarchy at that time.

Some Facts:
In 1892 the Eiffel Tower was four years old, and in New York the „World Building“ was the highest building in the world and Jesse W.Reno’s patent for the escalator was accepted in the USA. The General Electric Company was founded in New York. In Washington the first toothpaste tube arrived on the market. The ballet “Nutcracker” from Tschaikowski was performed for the first time. Luis Trenker was born and componist Robert Franz died.

In Germany quite a few, although not all citizens, have a tiled stove. However, only in the living room and using one was a dirty and time consuming effort.

The kitchen was heated through the stove, other rooms remain unheated.

Nowadays things have changed and heating is easy and uncomplicated and the comfort level higher. WIBO brings you both aspects.
